Pamela Ware
Women’s Senior National Team About Pamela Ware
Two-time Olympian Pamela Ware brings a decade and a half of international experience as one of Canada’s most powerful springboard specialists.
Ware first tried diving as a 7 year-old with her older sister, Carol Ann, a former national team member. Famously, the two were playing on the diving board at a public pool. A lifeguard gave their dad, Patrick, the phone number for the Agami Diving Club.
Ware won silver in 10m synchro at her first FINA Diving Grand Prix in 2009 and represented Canada at the Youth Olympic Games in 2010. Later in 2010, Ware attended her first Commonwealth Games where she competed in five events including the individual 1m, 3m, and 10m competitions.
The Greenfield Park, QC native had a breakout summer in 2013 when she won two bronze medals at the 15th FINA World Aquatics Championships in Barcelona, Spain. Ware landed on the third step of the podium in the individual event and teamed up with Olympian Jennifer Abel for bronze in 3m synchro.
Over the next two years, Ware and Abel built a legendary synchro partnership by adding a silver medal at Glasgow’s 2014 Commonwealth Games, a silver at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, silver at 2015 World Championships in Kazan, Russia, plus countless FINA Grand Prix and World Series medals.
The podium momentum would end at Ware’s first Olympic Games. She and Abel narrowly missed the 3m synchro podium by 0.87 points, beaten out by Australia’s Maddison Keeney and Anabelle Smith. A week later Ware, then 23 years-old, finished seventh in the individual event.
Ware and Abel would improve upon their Toronto 2015 result by winning gold in 3m synchro at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru.
In Tokyo, at her second Olympic Games, Ware finished 18th in the women’s 3m springboard.
With Paris 2024 on the horizon, Ware continues her pursuit of a lifelong dream, an Olympic medal.
Out of the water, Ware loves to bake and hopes to pursue pastry school in the future.
