Canada decorated with silver and gold on home soil
Canada Cup
Montréal, April 11, 2026 – The Canadian women made a splash on Saturday at the Canada Cup in Windsor, Ontario. The duo of Mia Vallée and Amélie-Laura Jasmin first won the gold medal in the 3-meter synchronized event and were joined on the podium by compatriots Sonya Palkhivala and Margo Erlam, who took home silver. Later in the day, Katelyn Fung and Lila Gokiert repeated the feat by finishing first and second respectively in the 10-metre platform event.
After securing fifth place at the World Cup in Montréal in early March, Vallée and Jasmin claimed a convincing victory this time around, scoring 288.81 points. Their final two trips to the springboard were the most prolific, earning 71.61 and 67.50 points, respectively.
“We’re delighted with the result; we’ve been training hard over the past few weeks. Truth be told, I was a little nervous, but everything worked out nicely,” stated Amélie-Laura Jasmin.
A little over two years ahead of the Los Angeles Olympics, Mia Vallée is excited about her new partnership with Jasmin.
“I think we have enormous potential together. It’s not easy knowing that the pairings could still change in the future, but everything’s going smoothly. I love training with Amélie-Laura, and I think we complement each other well. We’ve already improved since the World Cup in Montréal, which is very encouraging,” mentioned Vallée.
Runners-up Sonya Palkhivala and Margo Erlam also delivered a superb performance, staying neck and neck with their compatriots right up until the very end, ultimately finishing in second place with a total score of 284.91.
Great Britain’s Amy Rollinson and Desharne Bent-Ashmell (283.80) rounded out the podium.

Later that afternoon, two other Canadians stole the show in the individual platform final. Katelyn Fung was dominant throughout the competition, capping off her day with a dive that earned her 83.20 points. She took home the gold medal with a personal best tally of 353.90 points.
“I’m thrilled because that was a great performance. I’m speechless! On my second dive, I was ready to jump and heard a scream from the crowd, which really threw me off. I was lucky to get a do-over, and it turned out great! I pushed myself 110% throughout the whole session, and it all ended really well,” rejoiced Fung.
Competing in her maiden senior international final, Lila Gokiert had no intention of being a mere spectator. The Albertan moved into second place after the first round and even briefly took the lead from Fung after the third trip to the platform. She remained consistent thereafter to secure her spot on the podium with a final score of 340.25, which is also a personal best for her.
“I had a tumultuous start to the season with the injury and the relocation to Montreal. I worked tremendously hard, and I think I’ve shown that here. It allows me to aim higher; I knew I had it in me, but after this latest competition, I’m realizing it more and more,” explained Gokiert.
American Bayleigh Cranford rounded out the podium with 330.15 points, while Quebec’s Mathilde Laberge placed eighth (281.80).
Earlier in the day, Thomas Ciprick and Nathan Zsombor-Murray both came very close to making the podium in the 3-meter individual final. Ciprick took fourth place with 417.15 points, just two points behind bronze medalist Moritz Wesemann of Germany. This marks a new personal best for the Albertan.
“I’ve been training extremely hard over the past few months. I’ve competed in many college competitions, which has really helped me. There’s still room for improvement in my scores, but those are just details. I want to add bigger dives to make it to the podium as often as possible,” stated Ciprick.
Meanwhile, Zsombor-Murray settled for fifth position with 393.45 points.
On Sunday, which marks the final day of competition at the Canada Cup in Windsor, Mia Vallée, Amélie-Laura Jasmin, Sonya Palkhivala and Margo Erlam will all participate in the women’s 3-meter individual final, while Benjamin Tessier, Claude-Olivier Lisé-Coderre, Matt Cullen and Kash Tarasoff will take centre stage in the men’s platform final.
Tarasoff’s set to have a busy day, as he’ll be competing in the 3-meter synchronized event alongside Tazman Abramowicz.
