Canadians Vallée and Inglis win silver medal at FINA Grand Prix in diving
GOLD COAST, Australia – Mia Vallée of Beaconsfield, Que., and Joshua Inglis of London, Ont., combined forces for the silver medal in the three-metre mixed synchro competition on Sunday to conclude a FINA Grand Prix event in diving.
Anabelle Smith and Domonic Bedggood of Australia won the gold medal with 280.56 points, Inglis and Vallée scored 269.10 and Kaja Skrzek and Kacper Lesiak of Poland were third at 259.80.
‘’We are very pleased with the result,’’ said Vallée. ‘’We only practice together once this week and we were able to get our synchronization down pretty good.’’
Vallée was also fifth in the individual three-metre final on Sunday.
Xiaohui Huang of China won the gold, Alysha Koloi of Australia was second and Krysta Palmer of the U.S. third.
‘’I was hoping for a better result,’’ Vallée said. ‘’I didn’t miss anything but there was nothing spectacular either.’’
