Diving at the 2022 Canada Games
Diving will offer spectators captivating competition at the Niagara 2022 Games. The springboard and platform diving events will be held at Brock University’s Eleanor Misener Aquatics Centre, and are fan favourites for their aesthetically pleasing and graceful nature.
First recognized as “fancy diving”, diving as we know it has been a mainstay on the Olympic program since 1904, with the springboard and platform events added in 1908. Women were first allowed to compete in 1912. Canada has won 14 medals in Olympic diving competitions.
Diving has been on every Canada Summer Games program since the beginning in 1969.
Notable alumni include Jennifer Abel, Alexandre Despatie, and Meaghan Benfeito, all of whom went on to win Olympic medals.
