TORONTO – Kate Miller of Ottawa and Alexa Fung of London, Ont., each won a second gold medal on Saturday at the 2018 Speedo Junior Development Nationals diving competition being held at the Pan Am Sports Centre in Scarborough.
In the girls 12-13 age group platform, Miller executed all seven dives off the 7.5 metre platform for the first time at nationals and won the gold with 279.85 points. Jordane Legault of Blainville, Que., was second at 278.25 and Catherine Boyer of Ottawa third at 268.25.
‘’I was happy about all my dives except my back two and half,’’ said Miller, who tied with Legault for first on one-metre on Friday. ‘’I wasn’t too nervous about doing all my dives from 7.5 metres. I had done it before at some local meets heading into nationals.’’

“I didn’t really expect to this well,’’ said Fung, the three-metre winner on Friday. ‘’I’m not really sure why but I did change my list between prelims and finals on the recommendation of my coach. I’m glad we did that.’’
In boys 12-13 three-metre it was another medal sweep for Blainville’s Club Envol. This time it was Benjamin Tessier who won the gold with 352.00 followed by Matt Cullen at 344.20 and Jules Rolland at 332.90.
‘’I learned from my mistakes yesterday and that paid off in the win,’’ said Tessier. ‘’I’m proud with how I bounced back.’’
