Regina: second titles for Tremblay and Legault
Loic Tremblay of Quebec City and Jordane Legault of Blainville, Que., each notched their second gold medal this week on Sunday to conclude the 2019 Speedo Junior Development Nationals diving competition.
In the boys 12-13 age group one-metre Tremblay executed his final dive a little bit better than runner-up Emmitt Reesor of Kitchener, Ont., to win the gold. Tremblay totalled 312.05 and Reesor 307.35. Charles Antoine-Labadie of Montreal was third at 277.80.
In the girls 12-13 platform, Legault survived a major error on her second to last dive to collect her third medal placing first with 292.60. Renee Batalla of Victoria was a close second at 290.20 and Amelia Sharp of Regina third at 265.90.
Arnaud Corbeil of Montreal turned the tables on Dean Calfacacos of Pointe-Claire in the boys 11 and under three-metre for the gold with 231.75. Calfacacos, the one-metre winner on Saturday, followed at 228.15 and Samuel McAffrey of Pointe-Claire was third at 226.10.
