Santiago: 20 junior divers will represent Canada
Canada’s most talented junior divers, aged between 11 and 18-year-old, are set to compete at the 2019 UANA Pan American Junior Diving Championships.
Over 100 divers from Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Mexico, Puerto Rico, the United States, Peru and Venezuela will be competing in 26 events. The championships are held every other year and feature competition on 1-metre, 3-metre and platform for boys and girls in four age groups: 11-and-under (D), 12-13 (C), 14-15 (B) and 16-18 (A). The last edition of the event was held in Victoria, British-Columbia.
The Canadian team in Santiago is made up of the top up and coming junior divers in the country. In order to qualify, they had to place in the top-two and meet a difficult point standard in their respective events at the 2019 Speedo Junior National Championships this summer.
