Cedric Fofana collects second Canadian gold at Dresden International

DRESDEN, Germany – Cedric Fofana of Quebec City was determined to finish the Dresden International diving competition on a high note Sunday and he won the gold medal on boys one-metre in the 14-15 age group.
Fofana led after each of the four rounds in the final and totalled 420.00 points. Tyler Humphreys of Britain was second at 395.30 and Bram Meulendyks of the Netherlands third at 391.85.
‘’I had an average week so it was nice to have a good finish,’’ said Fofana, also fourth on three-metre and 11th on platform this weekend. ‘’I really wanted it more today. I was more focused than in the other two events.’’
Canada ends the competition with three medals. On Saturday,ÂÂ Victor Povzner of Maple, Ont., and Henry McKay of Ottawa took gold on men’s three-metre synchro and Povzner also won bronze on one-metre on Friday.
