Wiens, 17, ranked 11th in the preliminaries with 311.25 points then improved to 366.70 in the semis. He was fourth in his heat missing a berth in the final by one spot. The top-three from each of the two semis advanced to the final.
His score would have ranked him second in the other semi.
For Pitman, 21, he was ninth in the prelims at 343.50 and earned 343.05 for fifth in the ame semi heat as Wiens.
‘’I dove consistently but I was hoping to fare better in the semis,’’ said Pitman. ‘’I was landing on my head but my entries were not clean and not how I wanted them so that was disappointing.’’
Canada ends the competition with one gold medal earned by Celina Toth of St. Thomas, Ont., on Friday on women’s 10-m.
